Man Arrested After More Than 200 Dead Animals Found

Police in Temecula have arrested a man on suspicion of animal cruelty for allegedly mistreating his dogs and cats. According to authorities, more than 200 of the animals were discovered dead on his property.

Authorities say that Elisao Gilbert Jimenez, 66, was taken into custody Friday after a search of his residence in the 39000 block of Liefer Road showed a number of dogs and cats "in poor health."

Deputies were dispatched to Jimenez's home to assist Department of Animal Services officers with a vicious dog, and when they looked in the back of the suspect's property, they discovered more than 200 dog and cat carcasses.

Animal Control Officers reported discovering 204 dead animals in plastic bags in different stages of decomposition. They also located more than 82 dogs and nearly three dozen ferel cats.

Body Found in Motor Home; Father Charged in Murder

A man whose daughter disappeared from her Temecula home approximately two years ago has been charged with murder after a badly decomposed body was discovered in the freezer of his impounded motor home.

Authorities reported that Clarence Eugene Butterfield was charged in Orange County on Thursday in the death of the woman. Authorities did note, however, that they are not sure it is the missong woman's body due to its state of decomposition. Medical experts plan to use dental records and DNA testing to identify the remains.

The body was found wrapped in a five-foot freezer of the motor home after a pair of impound yard employees went to the motor home to inventory the contents.

Butterfield reportedly owned and lived in the motor home on a friend's property in Capistrano Beach until he was stopped for a traffic violation in late September.

The friend reportedly then had the home removed from the property and it ended up at a towing company in San Clemente, where the discovery of the remains was made.

UPDATE: Temecula Teen Missing; May be With Man

The search is on for a 15-year-old Temecula girl, who may be with a man headed for San Jose.

Claudia Yat was last seen a week ago at a family birthday party in South L.A. Near 89th Street and Broadway. Her parents reported her missing when she did not come home the following day.

According to police, Yat could be traveling with a man headed to the San Jose area in a blue car. She is about 5 feet tall and weighs 105 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple shirt, blue jeans and black sandals.

Sign of the Times? Layoffs Hit San Diego Casino

Officials at Pechanga Resort and Casino in the San Diego area say they will layoff approximately 400 employees in the near future.

The Temecula casino, which employs around 4,800 people, will mark the first time in the company's 13-year history that it will let people go.

With a tightened economy, attendance at a number of casinos has reportedly declined in recent months.
