A Los Angeles area man was sentenced to two years in state prison for killing his girlfriend's cat last year.Scott Allen Atkinson was sentenced today for the killing and to threatening his girlfriend's adult daughter. Atkinson had pleaded no contest to an animal cruelty charge.
According to authorities, Atkinson killed the black-and-white cat last October following a fight with his girlfriend. He then reportedly told her to "follow the blood trail to find Tweety."
Blood was discovered in the apartment, but the cat's body was never located.
