An Amber Alert was in effect Thursday after a man allegedly shot his estranged wife and fled with his 9-year-old son. Authorities believe the man, Lonnie Ramos, 46, may have switched his car and was now using a motor home.Ramos, considered armed and very dangerous, was believed to be driving a rented 39-foot purple-and-gold Fleetwood Providence motor home with the license plate number 5EGW556.
Authorities said he may be in the San Diego area and Border Patrol agents were notified in case he attemped to head for Mexico.
