A San Diego area restaurant suffered more than $1 million in damage this morning as the result of a fire.Sammy's California Woodfired Pizza in Carlsbad burned extensively, but no injuries were reported. The two-alarm blaze, which involved some four dozen firefighters, reportedly began before 8 a.m. in the back of the kitchen.
CHP issued a traffic alert when flames spread to brush near the southbound I-5 offramp to Palomar Airport Road.
